This is a real portable radio. It uses a 25x30 cm loop
antenne.
14 ferrite bars (60x8 mm) are mounted inside the loop, this improves the
reception.
On the picture above one can see the black ends of the ferrite bars.
The more ferrite bars you use, the better the reception will be. Longer and
thicker bars will also give improvement.
The transformer is modelnr: 952.431 made by Adastra. It
has a primary impedance of 80 kΩ.
The diode BAT85 is very adequate at impedances of 80 kΩ.
The coil has 12 windings made of litze wire 40x0.07mm
By using the ferrite bars the inductance of the coil (loop) increases, without
the ferrite bars the coil would need more windings in order to have the same
inductance.
At daytime I can receive the following stations.

At night I received about 20 stations (as a speaker I am then using a driver unit).
